We had a blast at the Portal Experience last night. This imersive story telling experience is one of the most unique events that Boone has had to date.

The lure, illusion and production value that went into creating this experience was thrilling an allowed us to be taken to another dimension in a very much literal sense.

Shelley was an all-conference and all-region golfer at Beaver Creek and played basketball under legendary head coach Marc Payne. It was also during his high school life that he built a passion for theatrical experience.

BOONE — An immersive experience comes to Boone thanks to Ashe County native and producer Stephen Shelley, and the team he is working with.

The experience featuring mystical pop-up press events have been showing up throughout Boone. Strange, silent entities at Busker’s Fest, peculiar question-driven men on the green at App State. Even the Watauga County Farmer’s Market had strange happenings. All of these events related to the Portal Immersive Experience are coming to Boone.

BOONE — Come together for an immersive performance experience unfolding along downtown Boone’s streets, parks, and other locales.

Equal parts sci-fi, adventure, and mystery — Portal is an immersive performance experience designed to engage, surprise, and thrill audiences, leading them to a stunning discovery made in the heart of Boone. The show premieres Oct. 13 and runs through Nov. 6, taking place in the evenings on Friday and Saturday. An introductory presentation, free to the public, will precede the opening night on Thursday each week.
